Humans rights are defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations in 1948. Companies have a responsibility to respect and support these human rights within their premises or in their influential area internationally. So, LINKBYNET is committed in the respect of human rights with the signature of Global Compact in 2016.
One of the focus of human rights : personal data protection will evolve soon with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This regulation covers two aims: standardize the various European laws and give more rights to European citizens. This evolution provides discussions elements by acting on the data of EU citizens :
- Strong reinforcement of people’s rights
- Simplification of formalities for companies
- Extension of impacted companies
- Reinforcement of the power of autorities
- A more significant penalty in case of non-compliance
By the 25th May 2018, all companies having data of EU citizens must be compliant to this new regulation, otherwise it may incur a penalty of €20 million (or 4% of worldwide group turnover). The goals of this approach : map/protect data and detect attacks.
