Regulation evolutions

One of the focus of human rights : personal data protection will evolve soon with the  General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This regulation covers two aims: standardize the various European laws and give more rights to European citizens. This evolution provides discussions elements by acting on the data of EU citizens :

  • Strong reinforcement of people’s rights
  • Simplification of formalities for companies
  • Extension of impacted companies
  • Reinforcement of the power of autorities
  • A more significant penalty in case of non-compliance

By the 25th May 2018, all companies having data of EU citizens must be compliant to this new regulation, otherwise it may incur a penalty of €20 million (or 4% of worldwide group turnover). The goals of this approach : map/protect data and detect attacks.
